Sharps

Mermaid Hygiene’s sharps disposal service allows any sharps to be deposited in a safe and controlled manner, thus greatly reducing the risk of needle-stick injury to your staff and your visitors alike.

Mermaid Hygiene’s Sharps disposal service is suitable for medical rooms, other designated areas (such as rooms for the administering of insulin for diabetics and washrooms. Unfortunately it is a reality that drug abuse occurs in a variety of public places leading to the indiscriminate disposal of syringes.

Mermaid Hygiene Services can provide a choice of sizes and styles to meet your requirements, including;  1lt, 2lt, 5lt and wall safes ( a lockable, full metal and vandal resistant unit that houses an approved sharps container).

The used sharps container is replaced with a new container and the old container is sent for destruction and incineration in state of the facilities in full compliance with EPA guidelines.

Clinical Waste

Mermaid Hygiene’s Clinical Waste Disposal Services offer a hygienic, safe and cost-effective method of disposing of any medical waste such as bandages and other blood-soaked materials from your businesses.

The units come in a range of sizes collected on a regular frequency tailored to your needs by a uniformed and trained technician and replaced with a freshly sterilised and sanitised unit.

The full unit is returned to our service facility where the contents are removed and disposed of in full compliance with EPA guidelines.
